Welcome to the Northern Ireland Region of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

I hope you find the website an aid to planning your camping and caravanning trips in Northern Ireland.  We are one of thirteen Regions of the Camping and Caravanning Club and through their website you will find links to the other Regions and District Associations.

Have you spotted the first Christmas music in the shops yet?  There are still some campsites open for the winter period and if you are prepared for the cooler  temperatures then the country side can look beautiful at this time of year.   If you aren’t out camping then join in with the winter programme of events.  There are the usual meetings and annual dinners arranged check out the details with your DA and keep in touch with each other.

On a personal note, it was great to see so many at the memorial to Billy Fitz , I know Rhoda was moved by the sentiment and recognition of Billy’s contribution to the club.

Mervyn Best, Regional Chair

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those within Northern Ireland Region and Further afield, for their votes and support given to me at the last National Council Elections. The results of which were announced at the Club’s AGM held in Harrogate 25 October 2014.

Just to let everyone know, unfortunately I did not receive enough votes to be elected onto National Council.  Although my total number of votes were higher than my previous successful Three year periods (2007-2010 & 2010-2013), I came in seventh place, just outside of the required six National Council vacancies.

National Councillors from the 13 regions are elected or appointed to serve the interests of all Club members no matter how they camp or who with, the National Council manages the Club and decides on its Policy; from Purchasing, Developing and running our Camp Sites, Publicity and Publications, all controlled by a system of Committees, staffed by voluntary Club members.

As Mervyn (our Regional Chairman) has previously stated the importance of using your vote, It is imperative that Northern Ireland Region is fully represented on National Council and for This reason I intend to stand again for National Council in 2015”.

Thanks once again to you all.

Chris Wells.
